1948 – 2015

Auburn — Bradley F. Damon, 67, of Auburn passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, Aug. 15.

He was born in Lewiston on July 24, 1948, the son of Normand and Frances (Gesner) Damon. He graduated from Buckfield High School in 1967. After graduation, he entered the military, spending almost 30 years serving his country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army while serving in Vietnam. After leaving the military, Bradley went to work at Wal-Mart, working evenings in the produce department.

Bradley was a collector of many things, including war movies, books, historical items, model planes and cars, but his favorite was all his John Wayne memorabilia. He loved to ride bikes and go canoeing, participating in some triathlons as a canoeist. Exercise was a big part of Bradley’s life, but he loved his Dodge Charger that he had recently purchased. Bradley was a member of The John D. Long American Legion Post 58 in Buckfield. He also had two special companions in his life — his cats.

He is survived by his brother, Elwood (Skip) and his wife, Elaine Damon, of Lewiston; his sisters, Roberta (Bobby Jean) and her husband, Barry Gates, of Turner, Marcia and her husband, Robin Buswell, of Turner, and Leah and her husband, Roland Frechette, of Buckfield; a brother, Ross and his wife, Donna Damon, of Oxford; a sister-in-law, Martha Damon of South Paris; and many loving nieces, nephews and aunts.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Roland “Peewee” Damon.
