1936 – 2015
MONMOUTH — Clarence A. “Junior” Prescott, 79, of Main Street, Monmouth, died early Monday, Aug. 17, at his home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Winthrop on Feb. 16, 1936, the son of Clarence and Helen (Sprague) Prescott.
Junior attended Winthrop schools and had served six years with the U.S. Army National Guard of Augusta. He had been employed as a truck driver for Wadleigh’s Oil Co. of Winthrop and later also as a truck driver for Tex-Tech Industries of North Monmouth. Junior also owned and operated Lou-Lyn Trailer Park in Monmouth along with his wife for several years.
On May 27, 1972, he married Jacqualyn L. Cooper in North Monmouth.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, stock car races, snowmobiling, doing his gardening and yard work and snowblowing the “outdoors.” Junior was a member of the American Legion Post 204 Monmouth and the Monmouth-Winthrop Grange.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Audette and Mae Spataro; and a grandson, Robert A. Glover.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie L. Prescott of Monmouth; two stepsons, Roddy A. Glover and his wife, Carol, of Monmouth, and David M. L. Glover and his wife, Catherine, of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a son, Russell S. Prescott of Skowhegan; a daughter, Linda A. Willey and her husband, Lanny, of Warren; stepdaughter, Penny L. Glover of Gorham; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
