Temple woman faces charge in Farmington accident

FARMINGTON — Police said a Temple woman was charged after her car rear-ended another stopped on Routes 2 and 4 on Thursday, injuring at least four people.

Michelle Clark, 44, was summoned on a charge of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, according to Farmington police officer William Tanner’s report.

Edith Dubay, 67, of Farmington was driving east at about 2 p.m. and stopped to turn left into Touch of Class when her car was hit from behind, according to the report.

Clark told police she saw vehicles ahead of her changing to the right lane and all of a sudden Dubay’s vehicle was there, Bonnie Pomeroy, Farmington Police Department secretary, said.

Tanner noted contributing factors to the accident were likely speed, failing to yield the right of way and distracted driving.

Clark was treated for back pain by NorthStar ambulance personnel at the scene. Her passenger, Kenneth Clark, 10, was not hurt.

Dubay and her three passengers, Alexis Nile, 18, Dominick Campbell, 8, and Derek Campbell, 29, received minor injuries, Pomeroy said.

Clark’s 2013 Ford and Dubay’s 2005 Ford were towed from the scene.

Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue assisted.
