Fayette School and Home to meet

FAYETTE — The Fayette School and Home will hold its first meeting of the school year at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Fayette School Library.

Fayette School and Home provides most of the enrichments programs for the school. The public is invited to join and help plan this year’s programs.

Dance classes offered in Farmington

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Community Center will hold a six-week dance class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Sept. 8.

Swing, foxtrot, waltz, cha cha, rhumba and merangue will be taught.

Cost is $10 a person a class or, if paid in advance, $54 a person. Singles are welcome.

Daughters of Isabella meeting

RUMFORD — St. Timothy’s Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Holy Savior Church Hall. Chairwomen are Dot Benedix and Margaret Elliot. Also on the committee are Barbara Clark, Janette Blouin and Sylvia Touchette.

A special thank-you was given to the Summer Social Committee for the cookout and to all those who brought goodies or helped out, also a thank-you to the Knights of Columbus cooks and special guests, Father Greg and Sheriff Gallant.

Being congratulated for 25-year-plus membership were Janet Blouin, 38 years; Pierrette Bolduc, 38 years; and Pearl Murphy, 63 years.

Deceased members remembered were Nicole Harris, Lorraine Briere and Pauline Buckingham.

Supper, dance at Locke Mills

LOCKE MILLS — A supper dance will be held from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the American Legion Hall, Locke Mills. Music will be provided by Shadagee Ramblers. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Menu includes casseroles, geletin salads, vegetables, bread and pies. Cost is $10 for adults supper/dance, supper $7, child $3.
