Grange to meet
POLAND — Androscoggin Pomona Grange No. 1 will meet Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Excelsior Grange No. 5, Harris Hill Road, for the installation of officers.
There will be supper for a cost of $5 at 6:30 p.m. followed by the 7:30 meeting. Deputy Master of the Maine State Grange Bob Smith and his team will conduct the installation. Steven Haycock of Danville Junction Grange will be installed as master for the new year.

American Legion cancels breakfast
AUBURN — In observance of Labor Day, the monthly public breakfast scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 6, at American Legion Post No. 31, 426 Washington St., has been canceled.
Breakfast will resume in October.
Park Avenue Pickers to host jam session
AUBURN — The Park Avenue Pickers will host an open jam session for all interested musicians at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

Iris Society to host fall auction
AUBURN — The Maine Iris Society will hold its annual fall auction Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave. Plant inspection will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by bidding at 7.
The fall auction features Siberian irises, day lilies and hosta. All divisions are from members’ gardens.
Each plant will be described so bidders will know what the flowers look like. There are usually many bargains although rare plants may fetch high prices. Everyone who receives a bidding number will be entered to win a door prize.
This auction is free and open to the public.
Lakeside Chapter No. 60 to meet
WALES – Lakeside Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold its meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Grange-Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road.
The honorees of the evening will be the grand officers of District No. 4: Worthy Grand Matron Corley Anne Byras, Grand Electa Linda Gray and District Deputy Grand Matron of District No. 4 Eleanor Peterson.
The U.S. Air Force will be honored. All members are welcome. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.
The district’s traveling emblem,“Arky,” is at Pioneer Chapter No. 11 in Lisbon Falls.
Lakeside is gathering school supplies for the local schools again this year as well as coupons for the troops.
Danville Junction Grange to meet
DANVILLE — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, to plan meetings and activities for the upcoming year.
Members are reminded to bring clipped coupons for the troops. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
