PHILLIPS — The Phillips Public Library will host an old book and art sale on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18 and 19.
The books will include a variety of vintage and rare works that have been recently donated, including old nonfiction, fiction, children’s books and book sets.
Nonfiction books include an 1883 edition of New England Bird Life. Fiction books include well-known authors such as Washington Irving and Mark Twain. Book sets include a 55-volume household edition of Charles Dickens. The children’s books include a beautiful Pinnochio Pop-Up Book and hard to find A.A. Milne stories of Winnie-the-Pooh.
Phillips artists have stepped up to contribute to the sale with works by David Crowley, Nelda Warkentin and Saskia Reinholt.
The book sale will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Anyone may preview the books from 10 a.m. to noon Friday by paying a $10 entrance fee. After the preview, there is no fee to attend the book and art sale.
The art sale is Saturday only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
