BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust is looking for photographs, original art works or written pieces that express the natural beauty of “Your Backyard, the Mahoosuc Region.” All entries will be displayed, and will have a “grand showing” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Land Trust office as part of the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend.
Last year’s first art celebration of the Land Trust’s 25th anniversary was a success with over 50 entries. Many of the artists continued to bring art in during the year to display in the office. The organization is encouraging parents and grandparents to get their K-12 students to participate as well.
There will be prizes for photographs, original art, and written works in three age categories: 12 and under, 13-18 and 19-and-over. There is a $10 donation entry fee for the oldest age group.
Entry details: Photos should be matted at a minimum and may be framed. Original art should be exhibit ready. Stories should be one typed page (maximum) and attached to a stiff backing.
Entries should be dropped off at the Mahoosuc Land Trust Office, 18 Mayville Road, Bethel, by Friday, Sept. 18. Mail entries are also accepted. Entrants are welcome to sell their submissions at the show. More details on www.mahoosuc.org
