Russell named to Waynesburg University Dean’s List

WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Shonah E. Russell, of Sabattus, has been named to the Dean’s List at Waynesburg University for the spring 2015 term.

Shonah is a senior human services (education) major who graduated from Vineyard Christian School.

The honor recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement during the previous semester. Honorees must be classified as undergraduate students, be enrolled full-time with a load of 12 hours or more in graded courses and must achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a four-point scale.

Renaud graduates The Catholic University of America

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Christine Marie Renaud, daughter of Rita and Normand Renaud of Lisbon Falls, earned a Master of Social Work degree in May. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Catholic University of America.

Renaud was inducted into Pi Gammu Mu, the National Social Sciences Honor Society, and completed her advanced-year social work field placement at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

She graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., in 2013 and is a 2009 graduate of Cheverus High School in Portland.

Northeastern University announces Dean’s List

BOSTON — NortheasternUniversity is pleased to recognize those students who distinguish themselves academically during the course of the school year. The following local residents were recently named to the University’s dean’s list for the spring semester, which ended in May 2015.

* Phoebe J. Hunter of Brownfield, majoring in Biology.

* Travis J. DeLano of Norway, majoring in Chemistry.

To achieve the dean’s list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career. Each student receives a letter of commendation and congratulation from their college dean.

In addition to achieving distinction through the dean’s list, they are members of the University Honors Program, which offers high caliber students the chance to further hone their studies and interests, live in special interest on-campus housing, and participate in one or two honors courses each term. Invitation into the honors program is highly competitive and students must maintain a high GPA and strong commitment to campus leadership to remain a part.

Partridge earns DVM degree

MANHATTAN, Kansas — Brittanie Renee Partridge, daughter of Ronald and Marjorie Partridge and Theresa Partridge of Lisbon Falls, graduated Magna cum laude from Kansas State University Veterinary School of Medicine on May 15. She is a 2007 graduate of Brunswick High School. She is now furthering her education in Oncology during her residency in the State of Texas. 

Ramser named to UC Dean’s List

CINCINNATI — Lillian Ramser, of Turner, has been named to the Summer 2015 University of Cincinnati Dean’s List.
