1931 – 2015

AUBURN — Jeannette (Dennis) Morhauser, a very kind and loving lady who always put other people first, died early Sunday, Sept. 6, after fighting a courageous battle without complaints, but always with a smile.

Born in Auburn on May 7, 1931, to Laurent and Helen Martin Dennis, she attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1949. She was a lifelong communicant at Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Children of Mary.

Her career spanned many years as an executive secretary and private bookkeeper at Dori Shoe and Panther Moc. She cherished time spent with family and friends, and her thoughtfulness was evidenced by her baking talents during the holidays, and her amazing memory of everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries.

Jeannette and Richard renewed their vows and had their marriage blessed on her birthday this year.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard; her sisters, Theresa (Roger) Obie, Pauline (Robert) Turcotte, and Diane Helen Dennis; aunt, Gilda Dennis; stepdaughters, Cheryl Morhauser, Arlene Delgado and Marianne Lewis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Gary Dennis, Debbie Bernard (her godchild), and Sharon and Paul Obie.

She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Roland and Maurice Dennis.

She saw good in everyone and treated all alike. She was especially partial to children and the underdog. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her and share her outgoing, friendly personality.
