I read with interest the letter from Sandy Doctoroff, “Ranked choice a better way of voting” (Sept. 5). I found the letter … informative? Maybe.

The problem is that before I am able to form an opinion on the subject, I need to look at the data that was referred to in the letter. Doctoroff stated that there is “also evidence it [ranked-choice voting] increases voter turnout and creates more civil campaigning.”

I would like to know the source of that evidence and who conducted the research that led to that conclusion. I would like to know if there is a real source for that material, or is it manufactured evidence to promote liberal politics?

It would be nice if people who make public statements would list their sources of information when making such statements so that others might check the information and then make an honest, independent decision based on the information given to them.
