This is in response to Kalle Oakes’ column, “Goodell must go” (Sept. 7).
This doesn’t concern Goodell, or whether I agree or do not agree with Goodell’s actions. My concern is that Oakes included and made disparaging remarks about Kim Davis from Kentucky.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement. That was not good journalism or even close to it.
I have enjoyed Oakes’ columns through the years, maybe not always agreeing with certain points but, none the less, looking forward to them.
Not anymore.
I believe Oakes owes Davis one heck of an apology.
After showing the column to another avid sports fan, he commented that he no longer had respect for Oakes. I second that.
How could a very good reporter lower his reporting to make such comments as Oakes made in his column?
I hope I never see such a lack of professionalism from Oakes in the future.
