LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Sept. 3 were: First, George Bussiere and Ed Hinkley; second, Ike LeCompte and Terry Chambers; third, tied Shirley Miller and Ed Madden and Andrea Metayer and Fran St.Pierre; fourth, Sandy Oliver and Don Haley; firth, Moe Fournier and Alan Treworgy.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Thursdays.

Pownal church to host baked bean, spaghetti supper

POWNAL — First Parish Congregational Church, 422 Hallowell Road, will host a baked bean and spaghetti supper with settings at 5 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.

The cost for adults is $8, or $4 for children 5 to 12. Children younger than 5 are admitted free.

NEW GLOUCESTER — AMVETS Post 6 will host a bean supper the third Saturday of the month from 5 to 6 p.m.

Cost of the meal is $7 for adults, $3 for kids younger than 12, and free for children younger than 6.

MECHANIC FALLS — The American Legion will host a baked bean supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, on Elm Street.

Mannix speaker at Rotary

AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club announces that Kevin Mannix and his wife Linda Rota will be the featured speakers at the club’s morning meeting at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

They will be sharing their story and featuring their book, “Weathering Shame.” Autographed copies will be available for purchase for $21 cash or check.

Meetings are held at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave., Auburn.

Two trips from Meadowview

LEWISTON — The Meadowview Tenant Council has two more bus trips planned. All adults are invited. The first one will be on Wednesday, Sept. 23, going to Meredith, N.H., to take the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, see the foliage by the lake and enjoy a turkey dinner on the train, followed by a stop back at the Oxford Casino. There are still seats available.

The last trip is the annual Christmas trip on Sunday, Nov. 29, stopping first at the Christmas Loft,d then to Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, N.H., to meet Santa, have refreshments, dancing and a meal, followed by a show by Don Who.
