I was distressed to watch the news and you see all those crosses and Christian signs being waved as Kim Davis was released from jail.
I want people to know that there are millions of Christians such as myself who disapprove of Ms. Davis’ actions. We ache when we see anti-homosexual bigotry cheered by our brothers and sisters in the faith and we hurt for our GLBTQ friends, relatives, neighbors and church members.
We are disgusted with presidential candidates encouraging this bigotry and pretending that it is patriotic and Christian to do so. We encourage Ms. Davis to dig deeper into her faith, and to resign from her position if she feels her conscience will not let her do the work she was chosen by the people to do.
As a Christian, I encourage and bless loving, committed relationships between people, no matter their orientation, and my church does the same. As an American I support equality for all people, and one law for all Americans.
