BATH — The Squeezebox Stompers will bring Cajun zydeco music to the Chocolate Church Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at 804 Washington St.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

The Squeezebox Stompers has been described as a refreshing change of pace in New England, a long way from the warm Bourbon Street vibe they lovingly conjure with every performance.

Dancing in the aisles is strongly encouraged.

Zydeco music was originally created at house dances, where families and friends gathered for socializing. This style of music usually has a fast tempo dominated by the button or piano accordion and a form of a washboard, known as a “rub-board.”

The Squeezebox Stompers play Roadhouse Roots music: a unique mix of Cajun, Zydeco, Celtic, Country, blues and jazz featuring the accordion, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, saxophone bass and drums on two-steps, Cajun waltzes, Delta blues, hoe-downs, swamp ballads and original tunes.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.chocolatechurcharts.org or by calling the box office at 207-442-8455.
