“Libertarian” Sen. Eric Brakey representing Auburn got his car booted while hanging out in Portland. Now the “champion of smaller government” plans to punish the city by sponsoring a bill for state regulation of city and town parking management.

Hmm….more state governance by guys like Brakey with big money to swell government regulations for their own person gain. Hard to see how such a bill would represent Libertarian or tea party interests.

Perhaps Brakey’s campaign manager Stavros Mendros, who has had a troubled past with the Maine Ethics Commission, could help us all understand this paradox.

Brakey was a part-time resident before moving to Maine in 2011 after working as an actor in New York. His campaign set records in campaign financing from his family in Ohio, Linda Bean of Freeport, and folks in other states far from Maine. Although never holding an elected office in Maine, Brakey was appointed the chair of the Maine Senate Human Services Committee.
