On Monday morning (Sept. 14), I was reading the article in your very fine paper about the Lewiston police officer talking to the students in Peru about what a typical day on the force is like.
I think this should be done more often in other schools to tell people to have more respect for the officers who put their lives on the line every day when they go to work.
In 30 years of delivering oil in 22 towns, I met a lot of them and they were some of the finest people I ever met.
Be thankful we have them.
