Fall Quilting Class begins

MONMOUTH — The Fall Quilting Class will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, at the Packard Activity Center under the United Church, 778 Main St.

The class is open to all who would like to quilt to learn, share ideas and show work. 

All are welcome to work on the pattern, a disappearing nine-patch with variations and Migrating Geese.

Legion hosting benefit supper

AUBURN — The American Legion Post 158 will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and raffle to benefit Nick Blake, who needs a medical procedure, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.

The cost is $6 per person.

Bowl-A-Thon for blind Sept. 27

LEWISTON — The National Federation of the Blind of Maine is hosting a fundraiser to support its parents and students program.

There will be a Bowl–A–Thon, Bowling with the Blind, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Sparetime Receration, 24 Mollison Way, Lewiston. Big and small ball lanes now available.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly during the summer at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.
 
New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.
 
The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.
