I read the Sun Journal story at the top of the front page (Aug. 12) about slum landlords. One landlord named was my neighbor, Joe Dunn. I could not believe what I was reading about “human feces” in three places in an apartment a person was renting. That was beyond belief.

I have heard others speak about how Dunn has waived rent payments, bought groceries, etc. And I can add that a friend who owns a funeral parlor once told me that (at least once) Dunn paid for the funeral of a resident who died in one of his apartments and who had no family. Now that is the Joe Dunn that I know — a kind and considerate person.

I think the Sun Journal should print a new article with better information and in a prominent place. Talk with Charles Soule; he knows the truth. Do the right thing and correct the record.
