Harrison Lions Club hosting poker tournament

HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will hold its Texas Hold’em Tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the VFW Hall on Waterford Road.

The entry fee is $55. Proceeds will be used to help support local children’s programs. Doors will open at noon. Food and refreshments will be available.

October program at Pinpoint of Light

Nature club to meet

PARIS — The twin Town Nature Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Payne’s Redemption Center, 82 Park St., and proceed to view foliage along the way to and from Quill Hill near Rangeley.

FARMINGTON — The Veterans’ advocate will not be at the Municipal Building Tuesday, Oct. 6. The veterans’ advocate will visit Farmington from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Norway Library offering 1, 2, 3 Play with Me

NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library will offer 1,2,3 Play with Me for caregivers and children from birth to age 3 as part of its ongoing Family Place Libraries programming.

The 1, 2, 3 Play with Me will be held from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. on four Tuesday mornings: Oct. 613, 20 and 27.

Each session will include time for play and an opportunity to talk with local child development professionals, including Annika Black, children’s librarian, Norway Memorial Library; Shirli Allen-Heald, The Growing Place Preschool, play and cognitive development; Melissa Wood, Honeybee Pediatric Therapy; Candis Carrier, speech and language development; Kate Goldberg, nutrition and physical activity.
