TOPSHAM — The comedy troupe Mainley Improv will bring its madcap antics to the Orion Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at 66 Republican Ave.

The performers improvise comedy right before the audience’s eyes. Comic situations are based entirely on audience suggestions, and every show is different.

“The one thing that is predictable about improv comedy is that it is totally unpredictable,” said Dan Marois, who produces Mainely Improv with his wife, Denise.

“We have no idea what we are going to do when the show begins and we rely on the wit and genius of the audience to give us outrageous situations to perform throughout the evening,” he said.

Mainely Improv appears with a different cast for each performance.

“Some of the performers have worked together for many years,” said Marois. “Knowing each other so well, they play off each other’s comic timing to make a truly memorable evening of comedy.”
