Legion to host Mexican dinner Oct. 2.
RUMFORD — The Rumford American Legion Post 24 will host a public Mexican supper and dance with the Hot Damn Duo from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2.
Chips and salsa, an entrée and dessert will be served for $10. The band will play from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. with a cover charge of $4. The event is open to the public. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Theme dance Oct. 4
WILTON — The Wilton Friendship Squares will host a County Fair-themed square and round dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Cushing School.
The dance will be mainstream/mainstream plus. The caller will be Walter Lougee. Carol Arsenault will be the cuer. The cost is $6 per person.

Rumford Senior Citizens announce events
PERU — The Rumford Senior Citizens will host Monday luncheons at 11:30 on Oct. 5 and 19 at the Old Peru School on Main Street. The price is $6 for members, $7 for nonmembers.
The group will host a harvest lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9. Ham will be served. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. The price is $10 for members, $11 for nonmembers. Those interested should sign up by calling 207-562-7700.
The group will host a Christmas fair Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Old Peru School on Main Street. The group needs donations of crafts and baked goods.

RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will have its monthly meeting at noon Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shop on Route 2.
Historical society to meet
HARRISON — Harrison Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the museum.
A talk by Lisa Winslow on the Winslow/Seavey families will be held.

ANDOVER — The Mexico High School Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Little Red Hen. Spouses and significant others are welcome.
Norway Memorial Library hosting taste-testing
NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library will host a discussion and taste-testing recipes from “How to Cook Everything” by Mark Bittman from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.
Participants will cook a recipe from Bittman’s cookbook and bring it in for all to sample. A discussion of the book and the recipes will follow.
