1944 – 2015

PORTLAND — Janice E. Trapp, 71, of Madrid, died peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Tuesday, Sept. 22, where she had been a patient due to a short illness.

She was born April 7, 1944, in Madrid, the daughter of the late Frank and Ferne (Rowe) Douglass. Janice was educated in Madrid and Phillips and graduated high school as Salutatorian.

Janice loved to read and wrote numerous articles and short stories that were published in local papers. Her favorite pastimes of gardening and flowers was often rewarded come “Old Home Days” with a ribbon and loved Trivial Pursuit with her close and long-time friend, Dixie.

Janice was the youngest of nine. She was predeceased by Louise, Betty, Jr., Earl and Myron and is survived by Jackie, Bo and Dottie. She is the mother of Shawn Harper, John and Frank Trapp and very proud grandmother (DeeDee) of Brandon, Ashley, Jocelyn, Lynnette and Brett, and great-grandmother of Gabriel and Alex.
