AUBURN — Lina V. Alexander, 89, of Lisbon, died on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, with her family by her side, following a short illness.
She was born in Lisbon, on Nov. 12, 1925, the daughter of the late James and Cleora M. (Dingley) Vasel and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was educated in Lisbon schools and was a graduate of Lisbon High School.
She was a homemaker for all of her life. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 1603 of Auburn and the Mayflower Society.
Lina enjoyed traveling, gardening, dining out and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Edward H. Alexander, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1947, of Lisbon; three daughters, Lynn Stein and her husband, Donald, of Lisbon Falls, Bonnie Hunter and her husband, Peter, of Lisbon and Dawn King of Lisbon; three grandchildren, Tracy Boulet and her husband, Brian, of Lisbon, Tammy Champagne and her husband, Guy, of Lisbon and David E. King of Lisbon; three great-grandchildren, Emily Champagne of Lisbon, Natalie Champagne of Lisbon and Kaitlyn King and her husband, Michael, of Augusta; one sister, Arline Achey of Jackman; two brothers, Clyde Vasel and his wife, Libby, of Lisbon and George Vasel of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank both the Hospice House of Androscoggin and the Lamp Memory Care in Lisbon for their wonderful and considerate care they have given to Lina.
