TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education has announced classes for the week of Oct. 19 at486 Turner Center Road.
Substitute Training: Students will learn about school expectations, teacher’s lesson plans and assertive discipline. This course is one step in the substitute teacher application process for the district. A high school diploma is required, and a college degree is preferred.
Japanese Shibori Silk Scarves: Students will create designs using a resist method of wrapping scarves around a PVC pipe, adding color using various dyes and painting directly onto it. Those participating should bring an old towel and wear old clothes. This class sold out in the spring, so early registration is recommended.
Checkerbroad Slippers: Students will knit a pair of slippers with the checkerboard look that are soft and comfy to wear. Knitting needles need to be sizes four, five or six and a knowledge of knitting is required. Yarn is provided.
All Levels Vinyasa: Vinyasa means “breath-powered movement.” This class meets levels from beginner to seasoned. Anchored in the foundation of breathing and movement, this practice incorporates the elements of Tai Chi and Yoga.
