FARMINGTON — A local man suffered head injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Route 27 on Thursday night.

Samuel Jones, 19, was driving a 2001 Toyota pickup south at about 8:20 p.m. when he went off the road and struck a tree, Farmington police Chief Jack Peck said.

Speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors, Peck said. Jones was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

He was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulance and then to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Peck said.
