JAY — Regional School Unit 73 has announced upcoming events for the weeks of Oct. 5-17.

Pi-Cone North Math Meet

SMHS will host the first Pi-Cone North Math League math meet of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 7. There will be 11 different schools attending this meet. The season consists of five meets during the school year.

Senior meetings

Brooke Newton and Charlene Monzo, guidance counselors, will meet with all students in the senior class to plan for their futures. Seniors will be asked to schedule individual meetings in the Guidance Office with their individual counselor.

No school

There will be no school Friday, Oct. 9, due to a teachers’ workshop day and Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day.

PSATs

All sophomores will meet on Thursday, Oct. 8, to fill out the demographic portion of the PSAT form. PSATs will be given on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Red Cross blood drive

The Jobs for Maine Graduates students are sponsoring a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the SMHS gym. Contact Barbara Jewett, JMG teacher, for more information.

Spaghetti supper

There will be a benefit spaghetti supper for Mary Ross and her family from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the SMHS cafeteria.

College representatives visiting

A representative from the following colleges will be at SMHS for any interested seniors to meet with them: Oct. 2, Unity College; Oct. 6, Maine Maritime, University of Maine at Farmington; Oct. 7, University of Southern Maine, Johnson & Wales University; Oct. 14, Washington County Community College, St. Joesph’s College and Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
