LEWISTON — Loving, homeless pets in Maine are seeking home-sweet-homes.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will host an ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon Adoption Event with the Bangor Humane Society. Other rescues and shelters around the state will also have pets available for adoption.
The adoption will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. The Lewiston location will be 55 Strawberry Ave., and in Bangor at 693 Mount Hope Ave.
During the event, adoption fees will be waived for dogs older than 1 year and cats older than 6 months. For other animals, the adoption fee will be $75 for kittens younger than 6 months, $350 for puppies younger than 6 months and $50 for dogs 6 months to 1 year. Discounted adoption fees do not include “VIP Pets.”
Animals adopted will be spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and GAHS pets will be microchipped. Pets will leave the shelter sporting a new collar and personalized identification tag.
Pets available for adoption may be seen on the society’s websites.
