LEWISTON — Maine-based Woodlands Senior Living will celebrate the grand opening of Woodlands Memory Care of Lewiston, 45 Mollison Way, Lewiston, with a ribbon cutting scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9.
The facility is the family-owned company’s sixth purpose-built memory care community in Maine.
Woodlands Memory Care of Lewiston will be the first purpose-built, ground-up memory care facility in Lewiston-Auburn. Among its features are high-efficiency climate controls, video monitoring safety systems and multiple high-end amenities.
Woodlands Memory Care of Lewiston has also installed specialized LED lighting in the common areas to brighten and dim to minimize sundown syndrome, which can cause confusion and agitation among individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage and Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald are scheduled to join the grand opening celebration.
