Foodplay Tour to visit school

NORWAY — “Fresh Adventures at Hannaford — Foodplay Tour will be at the Guy E. Rowe School, 219 Main St., at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Foodplay is a national nutrition theater show that includes juggling, hip-hop music and audience participation.

Couch potatoes can get fit in class

PARIS — Couch Potato fitness classes will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, Oct. 14, by Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education.

Instructor for the six-week session will be Marcia Campbell, RN. Cost is $29.

Kevin Mannix guest speaker at Whitman

BRYANT POND — Kevin Mannix, meteorologist from WCSH, will be the guest speaker at the Whitman Memorial Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Mannix will be talking about his book, “Weathering Shame,” which he and his wife, Linda Rota, wrote. Their goal is to help people benefit from their struggles, raise awareness and to be inspired and encouraged by their personal stories to embark on their own journey of self discovery, recovery or awareness.

Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Waterford suppers begin Oct. 15

WATERFORD — Waterford Community Suppers will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. The monthly suppers are held October through May, but not in December.

Attendees are asked to bring a main dish, salad or dessert to share. Rolls and beverages will be provided. The hosts for this supper are Clara Hamlin and Jane Kimball. Everyone is invited.

Paris Historical Society to meet

SOUTH PARIS — The Paris Cape Historical Society will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at 77 High St.

After a brief business meeting, Paul Thornfeldt of Paris will speak on the subject of genealogy, concentrating on his research into his own family’s genealogy.

Ben Conant and Cynthia Immonen recently attended the quarterly meeting of the Maine Old Cemeteries Association, held in Woodstock.

The society has items connected to local history for sale, including CDs of local cemeteries. It will be open every Thursday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. until Thanksgiving. This meeting will be the last regular meeting of the year, and will be followed by fellowship and refreshments.

Class to meet for lunch in Andover
