1943 – 2015

LEWISTON — Beverly Elizabeth Draper Webster passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Dec. 23, 1943, the daughter of the late Evelyn A. (Hardy) and Ellis B. Draper.

She was raised in Camden, where she attended farrier school.

Bev was devoted to family and friends; she had many adopted moms, sisters and sons.

Known for her beautiful spirit and fun-loving ways, she was kind and generous.

She loved horses, especially “Jeannie,” and enjoyed those famous long trail rides with the Tri-County Riders. Bev also enjoyed hunting, motorcycling, flower-gardening, cookouts and gatherings.

Beverly loved to travel to Eastport and also Daytona, Fla., during Bike Week, and was a member of the unofficial “underwater cycle club” of Lisbon.

Bev’s wishes were for peace and harmony for her family and friends — they made her life wonderful.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin Webster of Poland; a son, Thomas Pettegrove; a brother, George Draper; two granddaughters, Genna Tinker and her family, and Shawna Dewitt; her stepsons, Angus, Robert and Steve Webster; her stepdaughters, Carol Delano and Lisa Webster-Davis; nieces, Dolly Rand and April Briggs; a nephew, Donnie Webster; and all the people she “adopted” over the years.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara LaBrecque; and a daughter, Carolyn Pettegrove-Knights.

Bev’s family would like to thank Dr. Dickens and the wonderful staff at Central Maine Medical Center for their exceptional care.
