1933 – 2015

FARMINGTON — Eloise S. Nichols Brackett, 82, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 17, 1933, the daughter of John White Grant and Stella Mable (Henry) Grant. She graduated from Jay High School in 1950. In 1967, she married Vern Nichols, who passed away in 1988. On Dec. 21, 1993, she married David M. Brackett.

Eloise worked as a purchasing agent for Livermore Falls Shoe and Farmington Shoe and retired from the Maine Mountain Mock Co. in Wilton. Eloise was an avid computer person. She will be joining her dog, Murphy.

She is survived by her husband, David M. Brackett, of Auburn; stepsons, Terry Nichols and his wife, Irene, of Jay, and Doug Nichols and his companion, Trudy Bishop, of Livermore Falls; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy Grondin and her husband, Rene, of Livermore; her brother, the Rev. John Grant and his wife, Debbie, of Summerfield, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and a very special niece, Bobbi Coutois.

She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Norman “Mickey” Welch Jr.; her daughter, Penny Welch; her sisters, Inza Grant and Bertha Welch; and her brother, Everard Grant.
