OLD TOWN – The Knights of Columbus will host an Acadian Soiree at 6 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Old Town KC Hall, 5 Gilman Falls Ave.
The event will benefit the ministry to the poor. It will feature La Famille Leblanc, a high energy live band featuring six musicians from Livermore Falls, performing Acadian music.
Acadian food will be served for dinner, including including patates fricassee (potatoes, beef and salted green onion tops), chicken stew with poutines, baked beans with molasses and salt pork, tourtieres (meat pies), ployes (buckwheat pancakes), homemade biscuits, tarte-aux-sucre (sugar pie), galettes a la melasse (molasses cookies) and pouding chomeur (Poor Man’s pudding).
Tickets may be purchased after mass in the back of the church. A cash bar will be available. Admission is $20, $10 children 13 and under.
