Post 210 holding spaghetti dinner

AUBURN — The American Legion Lewiston Post 210 will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the American Legion Post 31, 426 Washington Ave.

The event is open to the public.

Tack sale to benefit 4H club

LISBON FALLS — Area horsemen have cleaned out their tack rooms and will sell tack during the third annual New and Used Tack Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 17, in the gym of the Lisbon Recreation Center, 18 School St.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Pink Spurs 4-H club, which operates out of RiverView Farm.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome
 
LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly during the summer at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.
 
New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.
 
The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.

Bean, chop suey supper planned

AUBURN — The Andy Valley Knights of Columbus Council 8742 will hold a bean and American chop suey supper from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Sacred Heart Church on the corner of Minot and Western avenues.

The supper includes hot dogs, coleslaw, bread, dessert and a beverage.

The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and younger.

UU Theater auditions Oct. 18-19

AUBURN — UU Theater at the First Universalist Church of Auburn will hold auditions for “Be the Change,” a play about activism, Sunday and Monday, Oct. 18 and 19, at 169 Pleasant St.

Auditions are from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19.

Those interested may call 207-783-0461 to arrange a time that better suits them.

UUT is looking for 10 performers to portray male and female historical figures, including one Asian, two African-Americans and two Jewish persons. Audition material will be provided.

“Be the Change” will be performed readers theater-style (no memorizing necessary) the weekend of Dec. 4-6.

Citizens Cribbage League results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on Oct. 1 were, in first place, Gene Brown and Don Haley; second place, Andrea Metayer and Henry Maheux; third place, Bob Allen and George Bussiere; fourth place, Connie St.Pierre and Diane Torres; and fifth place, Stan Tetenman and Dick Saucier.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.
