AUGUSTA — Maine Wabanaki-REACH will offer a free Ally Workshop, specifically designed for non-Native people, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Preregistration is required.
This is an opportunity to learn about the shared history with Wabanaki People, the impact of that history and how to make a difference today.
Maine Wabanaki REACH is a cross-cultural collaborative that established the Maine Wabanaki State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission and works to advance the commission’s recommendations for truth, healing and change.
The workshop, led by Susan Howe and Tom Reynolds, REACH Maine community organizers, will explore the shared history of Tribal and non-Native communities and U.S. and Tribal governments and develop participants’ understanding of the role of allies.
More specific information on location is available when registering. Space is limited; to register or for more information, email [email protected] or call 951-4874.
