1937 – 2015
LEWISTON — Gerald “Uncle G” Arsenault, 78, of Pine Street, Rumford, passed away on Monday, Oct. 12, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a brief illness.
He was born in Rumford on Aug. 6, 1937, a son of Henry O. and Philomene Arsenault.
Gerry was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1955. He was also a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French education, Class of 1959.
Gerry was a French teacher for 25 years at Scarborough High School. He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, and served on many church committees. Gerry enjoyed doing yardwork and carpentry and was an accomplished seamstress.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Betty Arsenault of Auburn and Carol LaFleur of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; four sisters, Florence Blanchard, Anna Sirois, Lydia Fortin and Alvine Arsenault; and five brothers, Edward, Euclide, Melvin, Lionel and Armand.
