AUBURN — Candid Candidates, 5 to 7:30 p.m., Auburn Hall. Young Professionals of the Lewiston-Auburn Area sponsoring informative discussions with candidates for City Council, School Committee and mayor. Moderator will reserve time for audience questions.

Workshop begins at 6 p.m. with topics including discussion of school enrollment followed by an executive session. Regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include special amusement permits Androscoggin County charter and county Budget Committee issues, and city union negotiations.

LEWISTON — Public tour, discussion and nonbinding straw vote of proposed location for elementary school for Martel and Longley students. Tours near Lewiston High School start at 5:30; information meeting, questions and answers followed by straw vote start at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Lewiston High School.

LEWISTON — Former Congressman Barney Frank will speak at the Sunday Author Series, 1 p.m., Callahan Hall, Lewiston Public Library. He will talk about his book, “Frank: A Life in Politics from the Great Society to Same-Sex Marriage.”
