JAY — Spruce Mountain High School has announced its upcoming events for the week of Oct. 19-24.

SMHS flu clinic: There will be a flu clinic for students and staff on Thursday, Oct. 22, in the cafeteria of Spruce Mountain High School. Forms were sent home with students to sign up for this clinic.

Pie auction: Phoenix Football will host its annual pie auction and spaghetti supper on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the SMHS cafeteria. Each football player will make his own pie to be auctioned off. All proceeds will go toward Phoenix Football Boosters. Tickets to the supper are $5 each.

Driver’s education scholarship: Jobs for Maine Graduate students are offering four $200 Driver’s Education Scholarships to SMHS students. These will be available for any driving school. Applications are available in the office. The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 13. Scholarships will be awarded on Friday, Dec. 18.

Bubble Soccer: The SMHS Boys Soccer team is sponsoring Bubble Soccer at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. Those interested may buy a chance to play for $5 per chance. Five lucky winners will be drawn to play.

Sportsmanship Banner: The SMHS Golf Team was awarded the Maine Principals’ Association Class B South Good Sportsmanship Award. The team traveled to Natanis Golf Course to be presented with the award during the State Golf Championship on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Haunted Trail of Livermore: The scariest event you will attend this Halloween is the Haunted Trail of Livermore. Tickets are on sale at the high school for $7.50 in advance or $10 at the gate. This will benefit the SMHS Class of 2017. The trail is open Friday and Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. until Halloween.

College representatives visiting: A representative from the following colleges will be at SMHS for any interested seniors to meet with them: Monday, Oct. 19, Southern Maine Community College and the University of Maine at Augusta; Tuesday, Oct. 20, Eastern Maine Community College and Thomas College; Thursday, Oct. 22, Maine College of Art.
