JAY — Police are investigating vandalism to a Canadian-based company’s equipment at its North Jay White Quarry off Woodman Hill Road.
Polycor is redeveloping the quarry and building a granite-curb manufacturing operation.
Officer Dylan Rider responded to a company representative’s report of the damage Monday, Detective Michael Mejia said Tuesday.
There was damage to the computer that monitors drilling and damage to the top of a generator used for power.
It looks like someone threw rocks at them, he said.
Mejia said he collected evidence and will bring it to the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory in Augusta.
Mejia is waiting for Polycor to give him an estimate of damage.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Jay Police Department at 897-6766.
