FARMINGTON — Police are investigating a burglary and theft at Sandy River Farm Market on Farmington Falls Road reported Tuesday morning.

Sometime during Monday night or Tuesday morning, someone broke into the store through a side window. Some change was found near the empty cash register, Farmington police officer William Tanner said.

The thief also took a bank bag with cash and checks.

On Tuesday morning, the store owner found the cash register on the floor and several bins and boxes had been searched through, Tanner said.

Detective Marc Bowering helped dust for fingerprints and store video is being reviewed, Tanner said. State police have been contacted because they are investigating other burglaries that occurred in New Sharon and Mercer the same night, Tanner said.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Farmington police at 207-778-6311.
