I usually do not write regarding politics or political figures, but I am inclined to offer my support to Peter Letourneau, who is seeking the position of mayor for the city of Auburn.
I have known Letourneau for more than 20 years and can certainly attest to his compassion for his fellow man, his integrity and honesty and his love of community, He is extremely intelligent and less concerned with political correctness than many others seeking a political position.
Having been a municipal employee for nearly 40 years, I can appreciate someone who indicates that he does not intend to get involved in the day-to-day operation, which invariably interrupts an employee’s work schedule.
Auburn residents can help get the local agenda back on the right track by supporting Peter Letourneau at the polls on Nov. 3. It will be a vote in the right direction.
