Firefighters from multiple departments responded to the scene at 172 Tiger Hill Road at 7:52 a.m.

No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported, Chief Mark Bosse said. A neighbor called 911.

Local firefighters are working with the Office of the Maine State Fire Marshal to determine the cause of the fire.

The blaze likely started somewhere at the back of the home, where bedrooms are, Bosse said. The back was heavily damaged by fire. The rest of the home sustained heat, smoke and water damage, he said.

“The big thing for us is that we heavily rely on the mutual aid community, and we’re very thankful for all their help they provided for us today,” Bosse said.

Assisting Poland Fire Department were firefighting crews from Oxford, Mechanic Falls, Paris and Minot.
