I am proud to support Jim Handy for re-election to the Lewiston School Committee, Ward 4. I feel that he is approachable and responsive to parents and teachers who voice their concerns formally and informally.
Handy’s pro-education attitude, perspective as a parent of three children who attended Lewiston schools, and experience on the Lewiston School Committee are essential with the increasing student population and growing demand for programs for children with special needs.
Fresh faces cannot increase a limited budget, nor have they played an active role in the positive changes in the school system that have occurred during Handy’s tenure, such as creating new teaching positions, adding many new classrooms including autism classrooms, and rebuilding/remodeling several local schools.
Jim Handy is an advocate of education and demonstrates that with his consideration of the needs of parents, teachers and, most importantly, students in the Lewiston school system.
