Bangor went 66 yards in 3:20 to open the game, capping the drive with a 26-yard TD pass from Jeff Lewis to Johnson, who had not been used much as a pass-catcher this season, giving Bangor an early 7-0 lead.

It could have been more, but the Oxford Hills defense kept the Vikings in the game in the first half. A bad snap on a punt attempt ended the Vikings’ first drive and gave Bangor the ball at the Oxford Hills 16. They forced a turnover on downs and gave the offense the ball back, only to have a fumble by Jake Spinhirn recovered by the Rams at the Oxford Hills 38-yard-line.

The Vikings’ D stiffened again, forcing a three-and-out, but an interception by Bangor’s Jacob Tuell gave the ball to the Rams at the Oxford Hills 2-yard-line, which the Vikings defense was unable to repel. Johnson dove in a for a 2-yard score to put the Rams up 14-0.

Vikings got their first touchdown with 46 seconds left in the first half when Connor Truman found Blake Slicer for an 11 yard touchdown pass, making it 14-7 at the break.

Johnson got his third touchdown of the night, a 31-yard run, with 2:03 left in the third quarter to go up 21-7. After a 69-yard touchdown pass to Slicer to get it to 21-14, Bangor melted more than seven minutes off the clock, and Ben Crichton went in from nine yards out to make it 28-14 and put the game out of reach. Crichton later added a 49-yard touchdown run to complete Bangor’s scoring, while Oxford Hills got a touchdown pass from Matt Smith to Caleb Jewell to complete its scoring.

Oxford Hills ends its regular season at 1-7, while Bangor is at 2-6 and headed to the playoffs next week.
