LEWISTON — David J. Burke, M.D., a surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, has joined the staff of Central Maine Surgical Associates, 12 High St., suite 401, in Lewiston. The practice provides care for general surgery and trauma patients.
Burke recently concluded more than 10 years service as a general and trauma surgeon, as well as a critical care physician, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. For the past five years, he served as EMMC’s trauma medical director and co-director of the Intensive Care Unit. Since 2006 he was lead physician at Surgery and Trauma Specialists of Maine, an Eastern Maine Medical Center practice.
Burke is certified in general surgery, laparoscopic surgery and critical care medicine by the American Board of Surgery.
Burke practices in collaboration with surgeons Nina K. Edwards, M.D., Shiraz Farooq, M.D., Rajeev N. Puri, M.D., James F. Reilly, M.D., Christiana M. Bertocchi, M.D., Rosa E. Turcios, M.D., and Laura Withers, M.D., physician assistants Sharon Brezinski, Kimberly Budd, Rebecca Gardina, Sarah Greeno, Rebecca Merrill and Jane Vanni, and nurse practitioner Elizabeth Pavao.
