Music for strings by Bach will fill Lewiston’s Trinity Church at 7:30 p.m., Friday Nov. 6, in a benefit for the Jubilee Center. Bach’s Partita in D Minor for solo violin will be performed by Greg Boardman. This piece contains the composer’s famous Chaconne, considered by many to be the most sublime piece of music ever written for solo violin. Also on the program will be several perennial favorites by Bach, including Sleepers Awake and Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, performed by Jessie Boardman, violin, Rose Pruiksma, clarinet, and Greg Boardman, cello. There will be a free-will donation collected at the door, with all proceeds going to the Jubilee Center, an neighborhood resource for food, clothing and medical needs.
