Marine Corps League to meet

LEWISTON — The Marine Corps League will hold its monthly meeting at the Lewiston Armory Thursday, Oct. 29.

All Marines and FMF Navy corpsmen are encouraged to attend. A Marine Corps Birthday Dinner and South Paris Veterans home visit will be a couple of the main topics.

Public supper canceled

AUBURN — The United Methodist Church in Auburn has canceled its bean and casserole supper planned for Saturday, Oct. 31.

Film, discussion at LPL

LEWISTON — There will be a showing of the film, “Islamic Art Spots” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library. A facilitated discussion will follow the film. The program is free.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly during the summer at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.
