FARMINGTON — SugarWood Gallery welcomes Mardy Bogar as November’s Artist of the Month with an open house reception, from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6. Bogar’s work will remain on exhibit and available for sale during the month of November.

The artist’s work reflects her personality and beliefs. She quotes poet, philosopher, naturalist Henry David Thoreau in explaining her own philosophy: “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”

“It is in the natural world that I find peace and inspiration. From my home and studio where I have lived for the last 30 years, a view of the western Maine mountains and deep woods calls me outdoors daily.

“Recording the wonders of our natural world, through color, form and emotion, I choose to paint with a variety of mediums,” says Bogar, who now divides  her time between New England and the Colorado Rockies, where she and her husband, John, visit family.

SugarWood Gallery, 248 Broadway, Farmington, is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
