1921 – 2015
FARMINGTON — Thelma Grace (Mosher) Frost, 94, of Wilton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation.
She was born on July 29, 1921, in Wilton, the daughter of Clare and Maude (Newell) Mosher. Thelma was a lifelong resident of Wilton and graduated from Wilton Academy in 1939. On June 24, 1939, she married Cecil Hiram Frost in Wilton.
Thelma was employed at Norwalk Shoe in Jay for several years. She was active in the Grange for 80 years. She was also a member of the Congregational Church in Wilton. Thelma was very active in gardening, including flowers and vegetables. For many years, Thelma enjoyed presenting farm displays at the Farmington Fair for the Franklin County Agricultural Society. She enjoyed family get-togethers, baking, knitting, quilting and crocheting. Thelma published a book for her grandchildren, “From the Kitchen of Thelma Frost,” which was so much more than a cookbook — it included humor, advice, memories and heartfelt wisdom.
Thelma is survived by her five children, Dennis Frost of Rangeley, Olive Toothaker of Wilton, Bruce Frost, Ben Frost and Robert Frost, all of Wilton; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Frost; one son, David Frost; a grandson, Gill Frost; and a granddaughter, Delcy Rogers.
A special thank you to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and the staff at Sandy River for their excellent care and consideration.
Tributes and condolences may be shared on her memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.
