LEWISTON — Ralph E. Nelson Jr., 92, of Lewiston, passed away at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion surrounded by family on Thursday, Nov. 5.

He was born in Bath on July 9, 1923, son of the late Ralph and Florence Mullen Nelson. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1941.

He also remained at Bates Fabrics, retiring after 47 years. He came out of retirement just a few months later to become a bus driver for Hudson Bus Lines. He spent 23 years at Hudson making sure the kids got dropped off right at the door on rainy days.

He enjoyed puttering, camping, gardening, farming and watching old Western movies.

He especially loved spending time at his camp in Naples, completing crossword puzzles, his grand dogs and family gatherings.
