Marissa Yates named to University Singers
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Marissa Yates of Farmington has been named to Bob Jones University’s University Singers, BJU’s largest choral organization.
Yates is a freshman majoring in health sciences.
Kenney graduates Correctional Center
WINDHAM — Brianna Mae Kenney of Lisbon graduated from the Maine Correctional Center on Sept. 25.
Kenny is the daughter of Richard and Lolita Kenney of Durham and is a graduate of Lisbon High School’s adult ed program.
Yim receives scholarship at Denison
GRANVILLE, Ohio — Johnny Yim, a member of the Class of 2019 at Denison University, received the Mary Carr Endowed Scholarship, given based on superior academic achievement, outstanding leadership and personal merit. Yim is a graduate of Lisbon High School.
Gagne enters Quinnipiac University
HAMDEN, Conn. — Danielle Gagne of Auburn has entered Quinnipiac University as a first-year student studying in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Goulet graduates Boston University
BOSTON — Sophia A. Goulet of Lewiston was among the 1,637 students awarded degrees by Boston University in September 2015. Goulet received a Bachelor of Science in journalism.
Allard graduates Kent State University
KENT, Ohio — James Allard of Lewiston graduated from Kent State University with a Master of Library and Information Science and a Master of Science from the College of Communication and Information.
Local students named student advisors
LEWISTON — More than 60 Bates College students are serving as Junior Advisers, Resident Coordinators and Resident Coordinator Team Leaders for the 2015-16 academic year, acting as both leaders and role models for students settling into residential life at Bates.
These students are advising first-year students on academic and social issues, while also facilitating student engagement through programs and volunteer opportunities, both on- and off-campus.
Local students who have been appointed for the 2015-16 school year are:
Jed Quint, the son of William C. Hiss and Colleen J. Quint of Minot, is serving as Residence Coordinator and is a 2012 graduate of Poland Regional High School. He is majoring in economics at Bates.
Brianna Wilson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian M. Wilson of Lewiston, is serving as Junior Advisor and is a 2014 graduate of Lewiston High School.
